The tongue expects a pungency but finds none while eating this halwa. Besides being a wonderful treat, the mirch halwa is prescribed as medicine for winter colds. Two spoons of the pudding washed down with a hot cup of milk can cure a stubborn cold.
The halwa is made from thick green chillies, semolina, chickpea flour, milk, ghee, and alum powder. A specialized technique which ensures a smooth taste to the halwa. Light green in colour, the halwa is garnished with dry fruits and desiccated coconut.
