Satrangi Sabz biryani is the vegetarian answer to the yakhni pulao. Cooked in the traditional style of yakhni pulao without meat, the spices are first boiled to prepare the yakhni. Seven vegetables are added to the pulao to give it attractive seven colours and flavours. The rice is boiled with spices and the rice and vegetables are layered in biryani style and put on dum.
